Textiles, color, exceptional craftsmanship, and an exclusive Dutch super-wax process distinguish the new Limited Edition of Eskimo Parka brought to you by Vlisco for Woolrich John Rich & Bros. The collaboration between Woolrich and Vlisco, renowned for their heritage and historical mills still operating in USA since 1830 and Holland since 1846, respectively, and characterized by their care for outstanding quality, combines Woolrich’s outdoor iconic parka with Vlisco’s fabrics and special wax process to create a new Parka for the SpringSummer 2015 collection.
The Woolrich Parka by Vlisco is made with a wax fabric and water resistant. The design features the iconic Woolrich Eskimo, with sharp lines and military style, softened by a stretch waist and flap pockets. It toggles for adjustable size and fit leisurely finishing with a traditional touch.
Vlisco’s heritage is quite unlike any other. Since 1846, Vlisco has been designing, printing and weaving unique textiles. Making it today the only brand creating authentic Dutch wax fabrics, recognizable by their original design. These textiles are a display of true Dutch craftsmanship.
In fact every centimeter of fabric is unique due to the special wax process, which originates from antique batik techniques. For Woolrich, handcraft is the bedrock of its tradition: founded in 1830, the Mills started up by John Rich still produce fabrics the traditional way. The brand is synonymous with functionality, attention to detail, practical tailoring and design elements that stand the test of time. Woolrich is the perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
The Woolrich Parka by Vlisco is made of Vlisco’s famous super-wax, an extra densely woven, fine cotton fabric, recognizable by two blocking colors, which demonstrates a typical wax crackling effect. A combination of 3D artwork, layered print detailing and Vlisco’s heritage-led production creates the original finish to this jacket.
The essential jacket has been given a style overhaul just in time for SpringSummer 2015. Quality, craftsmanship and a new take on old traditions make for this season’s answer to lightweight layering.
